Ballet Nights – Brisbane
The London Sensation! Uniquely compéred evenings of international dance up close.
About
Trailblazing UK dance sensation Ballet Nights makes its first international foray to Brisbane with a one-night-only performance at Thomas Dixon Centre’s Talbot Theatre on Saturday 21 September.
Ballet Nights is a dynamic compilation of renowned and emerging ballet stars, world-class musicians and exciting contemporary dance talent, presented as an immersive experience.
The exclusive Brisbane performance features Star Principals of English National Ballet, Shiori Kase & Gareth Haw, Sydney Dance Company’s Victor Zarallo, the UK’s tap and rhythm sensation Guy Salim (Stomp Worldwide, The Choir of Man, Cats), alongside new discovery and Ballet Night’s star Felicity Chadwick.
Local Ballet artist Sienna Going will stun the audience with their performance of classical variations from Sleeping Beauty.
National Dance Awards Critics Circle nominated star Jordan James Bridge and concert pianist Viktor Erik Emanuel will round out the electrifying line-up.
Queensland Ballet Academy Pre Professional students will feature in the performances continuing the Ballet Nights tradition of shining a spotlight on the future stars of the dance world.
Ballet Nights founder and Artistic Director Jamiel Devernay-Laurence curates the performance as the onstage compère, introducing and sharing insider insight on each act.
“Ballet Nights is all about reaching new audiences for dance in intimate and revolutionary dance spaces,” Devernay-Laurence said.
“We’re thrilled to bring Ballet Nights to Australia for the first time, marking our debut abroad with an eagerly anticipated performance in Brisbane,” says Devernay-Laurence. “Collaborating with talented artists based across Australia is an incredible opportunity, and we can’t wait to see how this sets the stage for the future of more shows from Ballet Nights in the region.”
